Cost comparison
Subscription, transaction fees, paid apps or modules, hosting and maintenance hours, worked out from your catalogue and order volume over three years.
“Which platform should our shop use?” has no answer in the abstract. It comes from four facts: how many products you carry, how many orders you expect each month, which countries you sell into and what invoicing software you run. Put those on the table and the shortlist writes itself. An olive oil producer near Jaén selling into Spain and Portugal and keen to open this quarter will be well served by a subscription platform. A parts distributor with twelve thousand SKUs, customer-specific prices and deliveries to the Canaries needs control over server and code. We run those numbers with you before recommending anything.
The service has two halves: choosing the platform from real data, then getting it running. These are the components of each.
Subscription, transaction fees, paid apps or modules, hosting and maintenance hours, worked out from your catalogue and order volume over three years.
Markets, languages, VAT under the One-Stop Shop, payment methods, SEUR, GLS or Correos Express shipping and a Verifactu-compatible invoicing app, all configured.
Installation on a server in Spain or the EU, Redsys, Bizum and carrier modules, pricing by customer group, and an upgrade plan for versions and modules.
For businesses already on WordPress: the shop sits in the same admin, with Spanish payment gateways and links to Holded, a3ERP or Odoo without switching ecosystem.
A candid assessment for large catalogues or multiple stores: what they add, what they cost to maintain and what team they demand after launch.
Orders to the Canaries, Ceuta and Melilla without Spanish VAT, customers warned about IGIC or IPSI, and a carrier that handles customs clearance.
Store, domain, gateway and apps all in your company's name, with Apply as a limited-rights collaborator you can remove.
With the starting data to hand, the decision takes a few weeks. Rollout afterwards depends on which platform wins.
We gather catalogue size, order volume, markets, the payment methods your customers use and your invoicing software. If a shop already exists, an export is enough to begin.
We build a test store with twenty real products on each of the two finalists, and you click through both admin panels to see which one your team finds easier.
Three-year cost, limits uncovered during the trial and the risks of each option, in a short document. The choice is yours; we make sure it is well argued.
Full set-up of the chosen platform, catalogue import, payments, shipping, analytics and training for whoever will handle orders.
Paid apps are the cost nobody adds up at the start. On Shopify, every feature the platform lacks, such as reviews, advanced filters, localised invoicing or subscriptions, tends to be an app with its own monthly fee. A mid-sized store ends up with eight or ten, and the monthly bill doubles compared with the base plan. PrestaShop has a similar pattern with modules, though they are usually a one-off purchase. Our comparison totals those charges against your real feature list, not a demo store.
It is. There is a large Spanish community, modules for Redsys, Bizum, local carriers and Spanish accounting packages, and agencies familiar with it in almost every province. Its weak spot is upkeep, since versions and modules must be upgraded carefully. If your team or supplier can handle that, it remains a sound pick.
It depends on how customers pay. With Shopify's own gateway you only pay the card fee; with external gateways, including those linking to Redsys, Shopify adds a per-transaction percentage that varies by plan. That is why the comparison uses your real payment mix and average basket.
Yes, by syncing catalogue, stock and orders through connectors or feed tools such as Channable or Lengow. Every platform supports it, with varying ease and cost. If marketplaces will be a big share of sales, factor that into the choice.
None solves it completely on its own. Orders for the Canaries, Ceuta and Melilla must leave without Spanish VAT, customers need warning that IGIC or IPSI and duties may be due on delivery, and the carrier must handle customs. PrestaShop and WooCommerce allow finer control; on Shopify it leans more on apps.
It is a contained piece of work billed hourly at €75 + VAT, with a fixed quote agreed in advance. If you then commission the rollout, nothing is repeated: the trial store on the winning platform becomes the starting point.
