Dedicated servers

Some workloads do not like sharing. A furniture maker in Yecla whose ERP generates hundreds of production orders overnight, a logistics operator whose warehouse management system cannot crawl at seven in the morning, a company bidding on a tender that demands non-shared hardware. That is what a dedicated server is for: an entire physical machine in a data centre, rented by the month. The provider powers it, cools it and swaps any faulty part. We handle the logical layer remotely: operating system, databases, backups and security. Your company buys no servers and nobody has to set foot in a server room.

What falls within the scope of this service

A dedicated server has more moving parts than a VPS, and each can fail in its own way. Our role is to make the split of duties with the data centre crystal clear so that nothing falls between two stools.

Choosing hardware

Fewer, faster cores when the ERP or database is licensed per core; more memory when disk is the bottleneck; NVMe when latency rules. We price hardware and licences together, because the cheap box sometimes ends up costing more.

Location and contract

A data centre in Spain or elsewhere in the EU, redundant power and network, a committed parts replacement time and a data processing agreement your DPO can file without second thoughts.

Disks and system

A suitable RAID level, the operating system, a private network where several machines are involved, and out-of-band console access so control can be regained even if the system will not boot.

Optional virtualisation

Where it helps, we install Proxmox or Hyper-V to split the server into several virtual machines, so ERP, file storage and remote desktops each get their own resources.

Backups and high availability

A daily copy to external storage with deletion lock and, for businesses that cannot stop, a second replicated server ready to take over.

Operations and the provider

Patching, disk and RAID health checks, raising and chasing tickets with the data centre when hardware fails, and a yearly review of whether the server still fits.

How the engagement unfolds, one stage at a time

Lead time depends mostly on the chosen model being in stock. The data migration is always rehearsed in full before the final cutover.

Measurement

For a week that includes a month-end close, we record CPU, memory, disk and network usage on your current systems.

Proposal

You get one or two models with rental, licence and administration costs, compared against a large VPS, so the decision is based on figures.

Build and dry run

Full installation and a trial migration to time every step. Those timings set the real cutover window, always outside working hours.

Go-live

Final switchover, checks with key users and a move into steady operation with monitoring and patching.

RAID is not a backup. RAID keeps the server running when a disk dies. But if someone deletes a folder, an update corrupts the database or ransomware gets in, RAID faithfully copies the disaster onto every disk at once. Backups have to live somewhere else, ideally locked against deletion, and need a test restore every so often to prove they work.

Common questions

When you have upsized the VPS several times and reports are still slow, when the database grows past a few hundred gigabytes, or when a contract calls for exclusive hardware. If none of those apply, a VPS is usually cheaper and more flexible, and we will tell you so.

The data centre technician, who is on site around the clock. Monitoring picks up the fault, we open a ticket with the provider, they replace the part and we check the RAID rebuilds cleanly. There is nothing for you to do.

Only if you already have a room with cooling, a UPS and a solid connection, plus someone who can handle a failure on a Sunday. On top of the hardware you pay for maintenance, batteries, power and space. We do not sell hardware, so we can run the numbers with you impartially.

Yes. Several providers have data centres in Madrid and other Spanish cities, and AWS has a region in Aragon while Azure and Google Cloud have regions in Madrid. If a customer or a tender requires it, we write it into the contract and into your record of processing activities.

Monday to Friday, 9:00-18:00 Spanish time (CET), with the response time of your plan: 4 hours on Start, 1 hour on Business and 15 minutes on Premium. Premium customers also get an out-of-hours line, provided in the contract.
